Lesley’s Place/Marzenne House – Toora Women (Western Creek, A.C.T)

Lesley’s Place Residential Program

Lesley’s Place is a drug and alcohol service that provides residential treatment and recovery support for women and women accompanied by children.  It has the capacity to house 9 women and 2 children.

Lesley’s place can support women who have already completed a supervised withdrawal, but need short term, day-to-day support in their recovery.

The program operates in a safe, friendly and welcoming home to assist women in overcoming their dependencies and develop positive life-skills.  All women in residence at Lesley’s Place are expected to attend the WIREDD Day Program. Women are expected to engage in case management and develop a recovery plan that may include attending outside services such as: Alcoholics Anonymous, Narcotics Anonymous, Relapse Prevention Groups and other counselling services.

Marzenna House is a drug and alcohol service, providing AOD treatment and support in a residential setting.  It differs from Lesley’s Place in that eligible women have already established their recovery, and are seeking additional longer term support before returning to the wider community.  Women that live at Marzenna are required to participate in case management, weekly house meetings, and continue with their recovery plan.  They are also eligible to attend the day program.

Many women who have spent time at Lesley’s Place move on to Marzenna if this is considered best for their ongoing treatment.  Women who wish access from the community may contact Lesley’s Place for a comprehensive assessment to assess suitability.  If the program meets your needs you will be placed on a waiting list, and as a bed space becomes available you will be notified, and outreach may be offered where appropriate.
