Phoebe House Arncliffe, N.S.W Inc. is an Incorporated Association funded by NSW Health under the non-Government Organisation (NGO) Program.
Phoebe House is a registered charity which was established in 1984 in recognition that women with children, who are on an Opioid Treatment Program, require support and assistance to stabilise and maintain treatment.

During its 30 year history, Phoebe House has lead the way in introducing a total life-style approach to reducing the harm associated with illicit drug use.
At Phoebe House we offer a safe haven and secure accommodation, and empower women to rebuild their lives, so as mothers, they are equipped with the parenting skills which assists them to provide the best outcome for their children.
The Phoebe House program is 6 months in-residence and is facilitated by a Group Facilitator and Parenting Co coordinator and includes, but not limited to:
Relapse Prevention
Anger Management, Stress Reduction, Domestic Violence, Self Esteem, Self-advocacy, Health and Nutrition education including Hepatitis C, Yoga and physical exercise, Lifestyle skills , Budgeting and taking responsibility for arranging and keeping appointments.
The Phoebe House Parenting program includes Parenting Assessments upon admission and completion of the program, and provides education on issues such as abuse and neglect, attachment and bonding, behaviour management and child development and nutrition.
‘Children are nurtured and cared for by child care workers who provide age-specific activities’
Phoebe House clients also attend weekly counselling sessions with professional counsellors. Each client is allocated to a Case Manager, who provides tailored support and assistance throughout the program.
Child Care is provided whilst mothers attend group sessions, where the children are nurtured and cared for by child care workers who provide age-specific activities.
Maximum Number of Residents: 10 +
Age Range : 18 Years + (including children up to 5 years of age)
Approximate Payment: 80 % Of Centrelink
Length of Stay: 6 Months +
Types of Treatment: Alcohol/Drugs/Gambling/Smoking

10yrs ago this place saved my life. I went in with my daughter hating the place. Grew to love it. I quite often think of the time I spent there.
After I left, I jumped off the program and have not looked back.
Because of phoebe house, I learnt the tools I needed to make it in the world.

Hi my names Sarah Jane and it’s been nearly 13 long years since I graduated rehab at Phoebe house…. I can’t thank you guys enough as my life has had a massive turn around, I now am a mother of 8 children I’m married and I’ve just opened my own cleaning business… I left rehab at little bay to give birth to my now 12 year old daughter Shontai- Lee. I was wondering what staff were still around from 12 years ago because I wanted to pop in and visit staff…. I can’t thank you guys enough it’s a long road but it’s worth every minute as I’m still clean to this very day… all I can say is anyone that’s thinking of going to Phoebe…. This place really worked for me the staff are all amazing I was pregnant there and had my babies and they really did the best they can to help me and it really worked well for me.
I am so grateful I was given the opportunity to come here many years ago. I was a complete wreck with no friends, addicted to everything i could get my hands and totally lost. The support and encouragement I received from the staff and other residents completely changed my life forever. I am now in a healthy relationship, been clean and sober for over 7 years and doing a job I love. I really would have none of it without Detour and the experiences and friendships I received while I was there.
