Venndale Rehabilitation Centre (Katherine, N.T) is part of the Kalano Community Association.
The Venndale facility is a residential drug rehabilitation centre with a number of dedicated beds available for people withdrawing from substance abuse.
Venndale provides it own medical supervision for each individual client, with prescriptions and medical checks accessed through General Practitioners Wurli Wurlinjang Aboriginal Health Service.
The programs withdrawal program operates 7 days/week, 24 hours/day.
Situated in a secluded and peaceful area of woodlands some 30km south of Katherine township the Rehab program facility continues to provide a total relapse prevention program over the years.
The Venndale Program hasn’t varied from the last couple of years. Our program still consists of:

The introduction of the Community Treatment Orders under the Mandatory Reporting Legislation has created much attention and debate but the clients we have received through the Governments Initiative has been positive and we are due to have our first Community Treatment Order client complete this week.
We were funded 12 beds by the NTG for the Community Treatment Orders and they are full most of the time.
The organisation continues to rely heavily on the Justice System for their clients and the idea of self-referral is still not a popular option amongst the drinkers of Katherine hence why the Community Treatment Orders are sending us the hardcore drinkers of Katherine who have never been to the facility before.
The organisation has finally had a great year staff wise with enough staff to function at capacity. We have also as always been at capacity at both Venndale and VTAC all year.
VTAC continues to play an imperative part of the treatment cycle. VTAC has been crucial as an After Care Service to work in with the Discharge and Reintegration Program at Venndale and has also been very useful as a pre-admission facility so that people who are referred to us while it is full don’t miss out.
The VTAC facility still applies a policy where a client must be involved in a day program to be able to utilize VTAC as accommodation. Therefore we had many clients coming to Vennndale on a daily basis to participate in the program and we also had VTAC clients involved in employment and Education, some employed at the Farm.
The Venndale team will be striving to again produce good results and assist client’s to eradicate a major negative contributor to their lives.
Nothing GOOD comes from abuse of Alcohol and Ganja and we will continue to help where we can.
